The guaranteed same day company formation express service provides that incorporations which are submitted and reach Companies House before 3 PM will be registered on that day.
This excludes any days which fall on a UK public holiday or on Saturdays and Sundays, when all types of company set-up services have ceased.
In order to provide this guaranteed same day service, Companies House has the facilities to identify, prioritise and process these types of incorporation applications before standard submissions.
The result is that, in the case of a same day company formation it effectively jumps the processing queue and are given urgent attention in order to ensure they are set-up by the close of business.
Depending on the number of company incorporation requests that bear the guaranteed same day tag, the result might be that the registration is completed very quickly and has a turnaround time of less than one hour.
Late Submission of Same Day Applications
In cases where a same day application is sent to Companies House after the 3 PM deadline and they are unable to complete the set-up before 5.30 PM, one of two events will occur.
Scenario one would result in the incorporation being rejected in its entirety and returned to the company formation agent, who would then in turn, contact their client to see whether they still wish to proceed.
Option two is the automatic re-scheduling of the submission so that it takes place at the next available opportunity, which is often the next working day.
Usually, the agent can program their systems to respond to same day company formation applications which are submitted late in either way highlighted above.
Changing from Guaranteed Same Day to the Standard Service
Once a submission has taken place using the guaranteed express service, it is not possible to then change its status to that of a normal company registration request whilst it is still on the Companies House systems.
Following a rejection, either on late submission grounds or any other reason, a fresh application can then be sent under the standard service, if this was then required.
In addition to limited companies there now exists a facility for online same day LLP incorporations which essentially follows the same processes and submission guidelines regarding timing and ease of registration.
