Completing Form 287 - Change of Registered Office
New location of registered office
The new location of the registered office is the address which the company wishes to use from now on. Note there is no requirement to list the present (old) address on the form.
Country in which the new address is situated
The new address included on Form 287 must be in England, Wales or Scotland for a UK company.
Nationality of the company
Companies House will automatically designate the nationality of the company as being either English, Welsh or Scottish based solely on the country where the new address is situated.
Thus, it is possible to change the nationality of a company simply by filling in Form 287 and depicting appropriately located premises.
Signature on the document
A director or secretary typically signs the document authorising the required change.
Returning Form 287
The completed document should be sent to the Registrar of Companies, where upon receipt, the process of changing the registered office address will commerce.
