Welcome to company formation statistics, the section which displays the number of business incorporations which have been carried out in any given month.

With the rapid increase in business start-ups in recent years, there has been a very high demand for company registration services. By analysing the trend, we are providing a snapshot of the number if set-ups and thus enabling users to draw their own conclusions on the data.

The statistics are provided by Companies House who of course carries out all UK business formations and who maintain systems which permit the exaction of the relevant data at the end of each month.

This section is provided to aid anyone seeking an analysis of UK company formation activities over a period of time.

Northern Ireland Company Incorporations

Northern Ireland company incorporations and formations have come under the jurisdiction of Companies House on 1st October 2009 and since that date have been included in the published registration statistics issued by the Registrar of Companies.

The table above provides both current and historical company incorporation statistical data of Northern Ireland. Northern Ireland companies are of course defined by having their registered office in that province.

At the time of writing the volume of company formations taking place in Northern Ireland is small compared to those in England and Wales or even Scotland. As further data is published, over time it will be possible to see whether this trend remains unchanged or if the relative numbers change significantly.
