Applying for Company Dissolution - Form DS01

An application for dissolution is carried out on Form DS01 which are freely available from Companies House.

The completed document should be signed by over 50% of the company directors where there are more than two such persons. In situations where there are less than three directors, all such persons are required to sign and date Form DS01.

The current fee require to apply for a dissolution is £10 and should be made payable to Companies House.

Reasonable care should be exercise when completion the application as errors would have to be rectified before the process could continue.

In some circumstances such delays might result in a company having to incur additional expenses maintaining its statutory obligations.

Some examples could be preparing another VAT or annual return or extending its accounting period to include the extra time.

Once Companies House has received the form, it will enter it on its database where it will be available for public viewing.

Confirmation will also be sought by sending the request to the company’s registered office address so that false applications can be highlighted and brought to the Registrar’s attention.
