- Download Accelerator Plus is a free application for downloading files from the internet at high speeds. It allows users to preview the files whilst they are being downloaded and the resume any downloads which cease as a result of a broken connection. Claims are made that it can download up to 400% faster using a special shrinking technology. The free version does contain advertisements and does not enable the user to manger passwords for download sites.
GetRight
- GetRight allows the download of big files regardless of the connection speed of the computer. It has the capability to scan a website for files and allows the user to select which ones are to be added to Getright for execution. It can also rescan the same site later and extract any new or changed files. For faster broadband connections, the file requested can be split in to several sections and simultaneously downloaded making the process of obtaining files quicker and easier.
FlashGet
- Flashget comes in two versions, the classic and the latest models. The applications are capable of supporting flash downloads and can scan files for viruses using the computers incumbent anti virus software. The versions contain no spyware or adware and therefore does not use internet bandwidth to support unwanted banner ads and messages. Multi- protocol support is provided for HTTP, FTP as well as torrent and emule.
