Companies House Name Search Database is Offline

Company Name Search is Out of Date

Whilst the situations described on the previous page may not come as a complete shock to some, and in most cases not cause great distress, the larger risk of registering a company out of hours is that any company name search carried out is done so on out of date data.

When Companies House takes its name search offline as it does at 11.59 pm every week day and all day at the weekends and bank holidays, any UK company formation agent name search system can not possible know whether someone else has chosen a particular company name, which might have been available at 11.58 pm.

Registering a Company at the Weekend

Although percentage wise, this is not a frequent occurrence, it is a common event, one which happens everyday of the week and is particularly rife when people form a company over the weekend.

When the Companies House database goes back online, there is effectively a mad scrabble to see which UK company formation agent submits the previous night’s registration applications first.

Companies House Queue

More importantly is the wait to see which of these requests lands in the Companies House queue system first. First come, first served.
