Using an Ampersand & in the Company Name

Using the ampersand & character in a company name is perfectly possible with the Complete Formations incorporation system.

By default, the company name search will ignore all words to the right of the “&” symbol.

For example, when checking the name T & K London Limited, the search results may state that T Limited is not available.

What has happened is that the search has effectively truncated the full name and removed everything after the “&” sign.

In order to register the full name the following procedure should be carried out:

  1. When entering your chosen name in the search box use the word “and” instead of “&”
  2. After the results show that the name is available, change the word “and” to “&” and then click on “next” and proceed as normal.

A graphical representation of this can be seen here.

The company will then be registered with the “&” symbol in its name.
